Applications for Form 1 intake are submitted through the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) placement system. Once placement results are released, parents should visit the school's admissions office with the placement letter, KCPE result slip, birth certificate, and passport photos. Our admissions team will guide you through the remaining steps including fee payment and reporting dates.
School fees are structured per term and cover tuition, boarding (where applicable), and activity costs. Detailed fee structures are provided upon admission and are also available from the school's finance office. Payments can be made via M-Pesa, bank transfer, or cash at the bursar's office. The school also offers a structured instalment plan for families who require it — please speak to the finance team in confidence.
Chania High School operates as a mixed day and boarding institution. Students may choose either option depending on family circumstances and availability of spaces. The boarding facility provides a safe, structured environment with meals, supervised prep time in the evenings, and pastoral care from resident staff. Day scholars follow a full timetable that runs from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
We offer a comprehensive KCSE curriculum covering Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Mathematics, Humanities (History, Geography, CRE), Languages (English, Kiswahili), Commerce (Business Studies, Economics, Accounting), and ICT/Computer Studies. Students also participate in practical and co-curricular activities that complement their academic subjects. Subject selection guidance is provided at the start of Form 3.
Chania High School has a vibrant co-curricular programme. Students can join the Drama Club, Choir, Debate Society, STEM Club, Environmental Club, Scout Troop, and Student Government. In sports, we compete at county and national levels in football, basketball, volleyball, and athletics. These activities are not optional extras — they are a core part of the Chanerian character development philosophy.
